The Certified Safety Officer (CSO) credential recognizes experienced safety professionals skilled in designing, developing, and delivering EHS training programs. This certification demonstrates advanced proficiency in instructional techniques and adult learning principles for occupational safety and health training.
Certified Safety Trainer (CST) Blueprint
The CST blueprint covers six (6) competency domains (currently under finalisation by the certification committee and to be published soon).
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for CST certification, applicants must meet one of the following pathways:
Option 1: Hold an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree in any discipline, plus a minimum of three years of professional safety experience in any industry, and at least 150 documented instructional hours in any EHS subject area.
Option 2: Provide evidence of at least 100 instructional hours in any EHS subject area, along with possession of one of the following credentials:
Certified Safety Specialist (CSS)
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Grad IOSH / CM IOSH
Recertification
CST certification remains valid for five (5) years.
Examination Delivery
The CST examination is delivered through any IOSHA Qualifications Board UK Approved Testing Partner (ATP).
